Can you do the career mode with a real ufc fighter in ufc 2009 without creating a fighter?

please help i just got the game and how do you take a fighter down to do submission?

the point of the career mode is taking and unknown up and coming fighter and fight your way up the ranks in the UFC and fight the top guys in your division.

To do takedowns you press LT (L2 if you have PS3) and push analog towards towards your opponent. While your are taking hem down button mash to overpower them. The best thing to do is time it right and go for the takedown right as the opponent is about to strike for an easy takedown. Once on the ground push in right analog for a submission. Submissions can be done in any ground position.
