Um, yeah, that’s what happens when one company buys out the other. The old brand dies…

It was dismantled shortly after Zuffa bought it, the whole staff in Japan was laid off some time ago.

Not only are there no Pride PPV’s, all of the fighters went to different MMA organizations.

And think about it… there’s almost no DVD’s coming out for the rest of the year, yet there were still a bunch of Pride shows that aren’t on DVD yet.

Pride collapsed because there were rumors that it had ties to the Japanese Mafia. When these rumors came out, the television station that showed Pride fights didn’t renew its contract and Pride soon went out of business. UFC jumped at the opportunity and bought Pride out hoping to keep it alive in Japan but that plan fizzled out and its last employees left a few months ago. MMA is still wildly popular in Japan though and there are still plans to get something going over there.

It didn’t exactly die, more like it was killed,(rip pride).
that said after all the money Zuffa lost on pride, and through the work of fedor, (not signing, making dana look like even more of a liar and an idiot than he did before, causing randy to leave, and the fact that he will draw attention away from the UFC and fighters will want to follow him wherever he goes), Pride is laughing from beyond the grave
