I thought I would try it out with some basic equipment and see if i like it before buying nice expensive equipment.

Just do what I would do and find someone to use as a punching bag.
Sporting good stores.
You can take a big canvas laundry bag and fill it with rags and sand.
Hi,
I would try hitting pillows wrapped with a blanket.
Or try buying one and see how it is….take it back if you don’t like it.
Or Try what Rocky did… go by your local meat market and start hitting slabs of meat….
As a young man blogbaba worked in a metal shop and we made all kinds of equipment out of angle iron and plate metal. Everything from preacher benches to pec decks.
Weights and dumbells. The best sit up benches I ever used were the roman chairs me and my uncle made, but that was 25 years ago, and the blogbaba is old now and rarely works out. I probably should have marketed some of that stuff, I never found anything over the years to compare with it. I have an angle iron frame my heavy bag is suspended from that works better than anything I have ever found in stores or gyms out in my garage right now, but over the years most of the equipment has vanished. I don’t know how it happened but some how the blogbaba just got old. Blogbaba Jr. is a sight to behold, 19, 6’2″ and about 185. He walks better on his hands than on his feet. He actually beat me one on one in basketball a couple times last week, so I guess I’ve lost a step or two, but what I lost in physical ability I more than make up for in guile and treachery. All and all I am trying to age gracefully, and failing.
Yeah, I can make equipment, give access to tools and a metal shop you can replicate just about any type of machine or equipment you can think of, you really need access to a shop, it would be tough to do at home though.
Good luck.
