@MrUltimateTKO hmm i agree with you, but maybe mir thought that he could handle it after his strength/striking improvements he was showing in his previous fights.

-4:30- REGRETFULLY, at the time I was a to DENSE to realize the application of you know physical ra a a training. Shane Carwin, a a you know the guy hits hard (cough errrr) he is a HEAVY HANDED individual.

Over all this interview is a very really DENSE….

@bamaminchew The best thing he could do is train his striking and work on his muay thai in particular. Leg kicks reek havoc on HWs and it would be put to good on use on someone like Warwin or Lesnar. Also, training his movement and takedown defense would help considerably in negating his opponents wrestling ability. Also.. avoid the clinch at All costs.

@bamaminchew The only realistic chance he has against these Very Very good wrestlers is to play to his strengths.. and that’s striking. The overall striking ability of the HW division in general isn’t all that good.. and he stands among the better ones in the division. Mir is a big dude, and while he’s flexible for a HW.. he’s not a BJ Penn.. so his chance of submitting big HWs from his guard is not all that likely.

@bamaminchew The same shit happened when he fought Brock. It’s nothing new. Granted he didn’t get knocked out in the clinch with Lesnar.. but in general, it was the same deal.. instead of using reach and mobility.. he gets in close (again.. with Collegiate wrestling champions here..) and somehow thinks he stands a chance in the clinch and either gets pinned against the cage or taken down and manhandled by their super wrestling ability.

@Trigunflame How many times have you ever seen anyone get knocked out in the clinch like that. Personally I don’t think I have ever seen it. I don’t think Mir comes up with bad game plans, I just think Carwins game plan was different than Mir thought it would be.

For all the supposed “knowledge” he has & the rambling that goes along with – he makes absolutely horrid game plans. Ya, let’s not extensively practice takedown defense.. even though we’re facing Collegiate wrestling champions.. instead, I’ll get in the clinch with them and let em pin me up against the cage.. that way they can methodically beat the living shit out of me and turn my face into hamburger meat in the process. Great plan Frank.
