There were three fights in this series…and as a lifelong boxing fan, it was the best I’ve ever seen. Perfectly matched. Pound for Pound, Punch for Punch…the best. I have never seen 1, let alone 3 fights that were so well matched!

Glad they showed round 9 in most of its entirety. If there was a category for Round of the Decade, Gatti-Ward Round 9 would be the clear winner, or as Emanuel Steward said “the Round of the Century.”

I love it when the announcers lose themselves in the fight. “Go to the Body!”

Sigh… even though I’m a little disapointed with the sport’s current state, every I time watch footage from fights like these, I remeber why I loved the sport in the begining.

brocklanders1984 March 24, 2010 at 09:17

@Lightning01992 – on what grounds was Hatton/Pacman a contentdor for fight of the decade? if 1992 is when you were born then I have no further questions.

brocklanders1984 March 24, 2010 at 09:27

this is true but i’m not sure if most pro boxers are guilty at the moment. If they can all get away with it and they all suspect their opponents are doing it then it makes sense to think that it’s pretty common within the sport.
