@ollycopter i think it is. it might of even been the best fight of last year. it was brilliant. the crowd was not in it cos they were both underrated and fairly unknown fighters. neither of them have a huge following. look at the clotty/pacman fight, it was garbage but had a great atmosphere. if they ever meet again, it will be great and the the crown will be well in it.

jambapunks May 30, 2010 at 18:27

@nadagain Hah, you must have not seen Cotto fight. Sergio is good, but Cotto is great.

Mandomex11 I agree, I thought the same thing.. He really is a bit loopy… I did not think this really was worthy of top 5 rounds.. Crowd were not in it and it lacked big drama… Was kind on mono toned action.. Okay Steward would say something dumb like that but thats how I felt watching it..

brotherhood302 May 30, 2010 at 19:32

@MandoMex11 I guess that’s why he’s where he is and you’re obviously where you are…which is nowhere compared to ES!!

akaTheWave May 30, 2010 at 20:24

@MandoMex11 Emmanuel Steward has forgotten more about boxing then you will ever know>

@Strezza yeah he will easily beat pavlik on points, that is if he can even survive 12 rounds without getting hit by the ghost’s powershots.but sad to say that won’t happen.yeah he’s faster and the better boxer than pavlik but pavlik’s fists are sicker. hopkins is a veteran that knows how to neutralize anybody’s powershot including kelly’s but martinez is not bhop.not even close

BobRow53 May 30, 2010 at 21:14

Pavlik is much more comfortable than PW for Martínez (right-handed, slowest, flat-footed) but stonger. Sergio must avoid to take risks (as in this round) while letting Pavlik’s right hands pass over and coming back from the sides. By the last rounds he’ll be frustrated and still as a bag to be punched time and again. Could be a master’s class.

Strezza90 May 30, 2010 at 22:02

Sergio martinez is siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick the way he fights is just tooo much perfect timing good defense. He will definitally beat the ghost pavlik. Pavlik is only good with coming forward fighters, he can never beat slick boxers like martinez. rememba what happend when he met Bernard hopkins (past his prime)

Williams has such a great hight and reach advantage, it looks like he’s fighting midgets most of the time.

dom8000 May 30, 2010 at 23:09

lmao, is this some sort of mistake? what a boring round, fights on tv every week have better rounds than this. They held on to each other for most of the round.

JoeyMartyr May 30, 2010 at 23:28

Martinex got robbed!!!
Martinez will give Pavilk a Bernardesque boxing lesson!

nadagain May 30, 2010 at 23:28

Martinez would murder Cotto at 154. That would be a terrible fight. I’d like to see a rematch but I’m glad we’re seeing Martinez and Pavlik.

ericjames956 May 30, 2010 at 23:46

He would destroy cotto at 154.

shinragingdemon May 31, 2010 at 00:20

yep this fight was martinez.

sgsfightclub May 31, 2010 at 00:21

martinez would knock cotto out

bkxnyxmxx May 31, 2010 at 01:12

sgkillerPR May 31, 2010 at 01:38

@sugarcruzbalestier cotto will get destroyed by anyone who is in that level of competition

ElJoeyJojo May 31, 2010 at 01:46

yeah i had it Martinez!

dhlfh May 31, 2010 at 02:29

Dont know what fight you were watching, your the only person who thought williams won…Martinez won by at least 3 rounds..
I think Pavlik would knock williams out..

matrixlone May 31, 2010 at 02:30

i still had it for maritnez man im sorry but williams was getting hit flush despite landing more martinez was rolling with most of them

sugarcruzbalestier May 31, 2010 at 03:00

Martinez did not get robbed. Come on man…was it a close fight? yes…Did Martinez hurt Williams? yes…Did Martinez win the fight? No. It was close but Williams was the one pressing the fight and coming after Martinez. Williams kept the pressure on him and he won the fight. Martinez is a hell of a fighter though. I would like to see him and Cotto fighting at 154

MandoMex11 May 31, 2010 at 03:44

Emmanel Steward making his 10,000 dumb comment on HBO. ” The intensity and the look in the eyes of Paul WIlliams, even though he’s being outclassed, a lot of fighters are not used to that especially Foreign fighters”.

dielugano May 31, 2010 at 04:09

esta pelea la gano martinez !!

BigKjr90 May 31, 2010 at 04:28

Williams proves again that he can gut out a win against a real good fighter.

onetwokid May 31, 2010 at 05:02
