How Much Is My Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Worth?

by MasterBlaster on March 15, 2010

So I have been thinking about selling my Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis plus all their games. Would it be better to take it to a game store where they trade in or would my best bet be to try Ebay?

Super Nintendo:

Console + Cords/One Controller
Games — The Lion King, Jungle Book, A Boxing Game, Frogger, and A few others.

Sega Genesis:

Console + Cords/One Genesis Controller && Two Sega Controllers
12 Games — Mortal Kombat II, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Sonic, Sonic 2, X-Men 2, Super Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 2 Special Champion Edition, Mortal Kombat 3, Castle of Illusions starring Mickey Mouse, Quackshot starring Donald Duck, World of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, Mickey Mania the Timeless Adventures of Mickey Mouse.

So what do you think it’s worth?

i cant tell you how much its worth but the best way to sell it is online because collectors will pay high prices for old systems and games

Depends all on condition. Brand new consoles can be sold for twice the price. If it isnt, it would be below average. maybe 20-50 bucks.

Depends on the condition and if the consoles/games still come with their original boxes/manuals. For the SNES I would say about 40 or 50 bucks. You would get about the same for the Genesis. Possibly a bit more for the Genesis or a bit less for the SNES.

I doubt any gaming stores would take them because they’re so old, but if you can find a classic games store that still sells all of those old games then they would take it. Some options are Game and GameTraders. You would probably do better on ebay though.

Unless you have any rare SNES games or Sega games you probably wont get much at a gaming store. I dont know even if a place like gamestop will even take the systems any more.
If you have a hawkshop/pawnshop/tradein type store near you they will still take them.

though youll probably not get much for the whole lot since they systems can be bought cheep and other then a couple of your Sega games which might be considered good (MK and steetfighter) you might get $50 for it (Maybe a little more depending on the value of some of the games)

I would sell it on something like E-bay, cause you can get a lot of money for it there.
