Bruce Lee competing in his weight class in UFC and any class in Pride…would he ever be champion if he agreed to participate in these events?

He’d be 66 years old at the end of this year. Doubtful he would be competitive at that age.

Bruce Lee practices a mostly unrestricted fighting style. That’s why he beats up just about anyone who’s been practicing a certain form or another of martial arts all their lives. If he were allowed to fight how he wanted in these competitions, I have little doubt a guy who can do near vertical V holds on his two fingertips would have much trouble.

As far as age, Jackie Chan is well over the hill too, but he’s still kicking strong.

He would be untouchable, unbeatable.

Remember the enter the dragon fight with Samo Hung

ultimate fighter like right there
Samo got whooped

at 66 he would be a grandmaster and would have no problem
with quick and easy tap outs.

Jeet kun Do is mixed martial arts
he is the master and father of Mixed Martial arts

He would kick a$$ period. Regardless of steriods, the time.

He was a true fighter trained in the old world. He trained 3 to 6 hours a day FIGHTING.

he was a warrior not a a mat wrestler like UFC. even those UFC fools would get broke off buy some of the best Specialized martial artist.

In todays world of steroids an xyience lol, i dont think he would have much success, although not that there is a lightweight division, he could possibly kick some ass. but i think the mixed martial arts is a whole nother style then bruce lee ever faced.

Not sure if he would. It’s very different from standing up and fighting. If he was doing just stand up fighting, I bet he would do very well, but I’m not sure if he had any training on the ground. That seems to be where most of these fights end.

he’d pwn. even at an old age. bruce lee is awesome!

kevin j March 13, 2010 at 20:10

He would win it everytime, you kidding me?

toq76 March 13, 2010 at 21:02

First answer said it, Age Age Age.. He’d be too old to compete with the younger guys. If he were frozen at his peak, then he’d be a contender.

G_Coll84 March 13, 2010 at 21:34

Bruce Lee was highly trained and truly one of the toughest men to ever walk the planet… He would have no problem with anything the UFC could throw at him.

jared g March 13, 2010 at 22:05

he was very, very fast. in a real fight, i.e.where the eyes and throat are valid targets, he’d be the winner.

Kent S411 March 13, 2010 at 22:37

Bruce Lee studied the art of fighting as a lifestyle. He also tried out every device and diet that was availible at the time.I have no doubt that he would have done well in todays octagon(except of course for the aging factor).

tosa_inu80 March 13, 2010 at 22:45

Bruce Lee was ahead of his time, (for stand up) but his grappling was way behind. Lee’s base style was Wing Chung, which doesn’t place emphasis on grappling. He could be champion if he practiced in grappling. He know “Judo” Gene Lebell. During this time and until recently people didnt have much respect for grappling.

If bruce Lee was so awesome then howcome he was so intimidated by a Thai Muay Thai fighter?

#1 wifey March 14, 2010 at 00:21

He would get knocked out in the first 20 seconds of the fight.

ME March 14, 2010 at 00:25

If he was younger he would probably be undefeated, at the age he would be today, its possible he would be undefeated

lindsslc78 March 14, 2010 at 00:48

I don’t know, I think Jiu-Jitsu is more effective then any other martial art. I think he would do ok until it came down to a fighter who is well trained in Jiu-Jitsu, especially Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu like Royce Gracie.

tapout2choke March 14, 2010 at 01:03

I don’t think he’d give a fighter even a chance to grab a hold of him. He’d hop all over those dudes. But being 66…..I don’t know.
At least he’d still kick Shamrock’s ass_!
