The best thing to do is start exercising like crazy, A lot of cardio, a lot of weight lifting. Also join a gym in an area of MMA you like (Judo, Muay Thai, Ju Jitsu, etc) there are many around the US but make sure it is the area you like. If you like ground then maybe stick to wrestling with emphasis on submission if you like to stand up then maybe Thai with boxing. MMA includes so much that no matter what you end up focusing on you must continue to grow in everything else because everyone can do everything. Good Luck.

Firstly start with cardio n start running morning and evening.
Then go to nearby mma gym and ask them to train u with martial arts…. Like boxing and muay thai for striking, wrestling for grappling, bjj and judo 4 submittion and sambo or karate for overall……
Good luck.

Find a good reputable mma school. If they are half way decent then they will start you out in a Brazialin Jiu Jitsu class to teach you the fundamentals of wrestlings and submissions. And also to get in shape. And they will probably keep you in this class for a long time before they let you start getting hit.

Expect to spend some serious time before you ever have an amauter fight. I would think at least 8 to 12 monthes before you could even consider stepping into a fight.

Find somewhere that will let you start out at once a week. Dont jump into a huge contract paying for more workouts than youll be able to handle.

If your in Tennessee, Check out Nashville MMA.
