i think different trainers have different methods of promoting their students. yes there r no stripes in bjj, but just cuz its using stripes doesnt mean its not bjj
Our school does stripes for kids, so they can see their progress between belts. Adults, nah.
seriously no stripes in bjj? i didnt know that, maybe its the original rule but dude my club does stripes n some friends from other clubs told me they do stripes as well, maybe the gyms and clubs use it to grade students but it isnt in the martial art itself, as for u not believing my story, i dont mind, altho i wudnt understand what a person wud gain from makin that up, as for they keylock, i really dunno its name, its from side control where u lock his arm fig4 n twist it towards his head

@535manbearpig Just because you have seen 1 ufc fighter and ufc’s fighter brother doesnt make a gym legit? spencer fisher is training at our gym for his fight with duane ludwig on versus in april. antoni hardonk is also here helping prepare for duane’s kickboxing that isnt what makes my gym legit? I train at tarpeins in moline illinois it is near spencer fisher’s team evolution. i no for damn sure if u are training under gracie you arent using stipes tarpeins is a carlson gracie school…

@seigemma4 well i train in gracie barra orlando and we use a stripe system down here at least until we can get our next belt
@535manbearpig Dude no it doesnt there is no stripes in bjj thats only tkd and karate i can promise you that you will never walk into a dojo or any mma team where the kids in there bjj classes have stripes on there belts…

yeah i wanna start wrestling to improve my takedowns, im doing muay thai as well to survive the stand up, but i wanna have good takedowns so that if i get against a guy with a weak ground game il take em down and toy with him
lol good for u i suggest doing some wrestling 2, trust me wrestlers who get into jiu jitsu end up kicking every1s ass in the gym( personal experience).
there are stripes in bjj, he seems like he was telling the truth since key locks like the americana are really easy moves to use as beginners, they wer my favorites when i had just started
