North Dakota board of education retires UND’s Fighting Sioux nickname
MAYVILLE, N.D. — The state’s Board of Higher Education does not have to wait to decide whether to dump the University of North Dakota’s Fighting Sioux nickname, the state Supreme Court ruled Thursday, and the board president said that means the moniker is retired.
