Man and about Maia fight, that is such a sore excuse man…PLEASE PEOPLE STOP COMING UP WITH SOME TRANSPARENT BIASED AND OBVIOUS EXCUSES, HE WANTED TO FINISH HIM AND NO HE WASN’T PLAYING WITH HIM LAST 3 ROUNDS, THE REAL TRUTH THAT ANYBODY NOT BLINDED BY DANA WHITE’S TRASH SEES IS THAT SILVA GOT TIIIIIRED IN THE 3RD ROUND! AND HAVE LOST THOSE LAST 2 ROUNDS.

@XMMAFANX he should just dominate. he doesn’t need the flash knock. put people into a position that the ref has to stop the fight. i would be happy with that.
Exactly, people just expect him to kill everyone first round by some magical crazy fashion. And I’m sure he could have, but like he says, not every fight turns out how the fans want it :/
And yeah, Dana said himself that if he does like that against Sonnen he’s going to drop him, which I personally believe is a total bluff.

@XMMAFANX i can see your point. i think this was just so over the top for him that a lot of people are so confused. and his is a great fighter, i will not say otherwise. his skill level is so far beyond most other fighters that he appears bored. just feel that he will have to be more consistent in his bouts to win back a lot of the fans that he lost. and for those that may have been watching for the first time…not a good first impression.
@XMMAFANX it is one thing to showboat and make your opponent look the fool (i.e. Forrest Griffin and James Irvin and all the fights before the Leites fight) it is another to mock and just dance around when you can easily put your opponent into a situation where the ref will have to stop the fight. like i said, it will take a lot for Silva to get the respect of White, most of the media and most of the fans back in his corner. i know i came across strong in the vid, but i am a bit miffed.
@XMMAFANX didn’t think you were being disrespectful or rude. you didn’t resort to calling names. i welcome all opinions as long as we don’t get into ‘so is your mother’ and ‘your mother wears combat boots’.

@TWinCombatSports As for him being disrespectful, it made it exciting, even though I don’t agree with trash talk during a fight. It’s not enough for me to lose respect for him, he said it himself that he’d wish he was more humble.
@TWinCombatSports I can :/ And he did engage the fight, several times, for the first half of the fight. Of course I wanted him to finish it, and I believe he could have. Idk why he didn’t, but he’s been to great of a fighter for me to stop and hate on him for this when fighters have done much worse, people are blowing this out of proportion.
@XMMAFANX and yes, he has been respectful which is why what happened at UFC 112 all the more strange. like i said, i will defend him for the cote and leites fights, i can’t defend him for this one.
@XMMAFANX @93msheen it is one thing to be disrespectful of your opponent, but it is another to not even come close to engaging in a fight. Silva could have and should have ended that fight at anytime he wanted, but decided to dance around the cage. i am all for making your opponent look like a fool, but what i saw was not just disrespect for maia, but disrespect for everyone watching. like i said in the video, if you are that mad at your opponent, you take his head off not run away from him.

Oh please fighters have had worse performances than Silva and got little shit for it. The Maia fight wasn’t even that bad, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, rounds were good. And the Cote fight was exciting, people were just used to seeing him KO people left and right.
How can someone also say that the fight could have destroyed Silva’s reputation and marketability, when the guy has only gone 5 rounds twice in his entire UFC career, and finished the rest. All 9 of them.
