@TheAdrenalineEffect What Silva did in rounds one and two I didn’t have a problem with, once he decided to disrespect his opponent in rounds 3, 4, and 5, that is where I have a problem. Silva fought, and yes toyed around in the first 2 rounds, past that point was what I took issue with. Hiding behind the ref, crab walking, etc. is not part of the sport, nor is it respsectful. Demian did way more than Leites did, and he had a “gameplan”. Silva isn’t always going to get guys who stand, that’s MMA.
I watched this video in hopes of getting a decent opinion on Silva, but instead got a bitchfest about bullshit your taking too far. Listen, Anderson is that damn good that he can dance around and not fight. What does that tell you? If you want Anderson to fight people then put someone in there that he cant toy around with. Damian was scared shitless in that fight and I was laughing my ass off the entire time how everyone criticizes anderson but yet damian doesnt have to push it?
silva could of finished but not in any round tho like ryukenb2k said. If silva beat his ass for say like the first 3 rounds strait you no maia would have crumpeled like every body else who stands wit him. Yeah maia wanted to go to ground but like ryu said he is a worldclass fighter on the other hand silva a little inmature but i wouldnt say it to his face he my favoriet fighter and he the best. sry for spelling
damien maia’s nose fine.He even appeared on brasilian talk show without any signs of a broken nose. people overlook maia.he got robbed against nate marquart because the blow that rocked him was illegal because it was clearly on the back of the head. What a outrageous call by the ref.they showed sue to god damn ref
Thanks 4 replyin back mate. the first 2 rds were silva getting over his emotions and nervesness.Once he knew maia aint going nowhere soon he got pissed off and started to run and coast. But if u look back to his fights with bjj guys like lutter and theites. in the lutter fight he was having major problems and got full mounted, against leites he knew if he got taken down its over.sonnen will either give him a headache or will be destroyed by silva
@ryukenb2k The way Silva fought in the first two rounds, was completely different from the way he acted in the the last 3. Crab Walking, Hiding Behind the Ref, and Sitting on his knees, is not fighting, they were actions. His actions were disrespectful, and that is where I have a problem with the fight.
Hi mate im hamza from london. I completely disagree with you in regards 2 silva’s fight with maia. I am a mma fighter and their was no way that silva could have finished maia in any rd.thats taking the piss mate.because maia is not a b grade fighter.maia was swinging even when he was on his knee’s.silva was CLEARLY frustrated because he knew maia had good head movement and just wanted the ground fight.silva was smart and stuffed his bjj all night
the truth is that Anderson Silva Dont like BJJ opponents as his three losses were to submissions and he said that on the post fight conference, something like that: “i wont lie, i was afraid of Maia, he surprised me and i know that his BJJ is World class and i didnt want to risk losing my belt!” but his translator sucks, he misses most of the important things that Anderson Silva says
@DreamCarGarage1 Jon Jones would be an interesting fight, based on his athleticism, and the fact he just gets better and better every fight.
I think you wonderfully articulated my frustrations. I think that Randy Couture or John Bones Jones could make a great fight.
@kellum634 I had heard that from someone else too. I honestly think he would have serious problems in boxing, as would a boxer in MMA.
@vinnymackdx No worries. You made some solid points. I did talk about him being bored, that is definitely part of why he is acting the way he is. Unfortunately, he isn’t always going to get aggressive opponents, that is MMA for you.
@hattrickhockey17 anderson recently said in an interview that he now believes he wouldn’t last a round with roy
@hattrickhockey17 Dude, respect for answering the comment. i like to watch your videos and yes i will subscribe after this comment, remember to do a 113 prediction! ma boy koschecks on that card!!
oh’ i did not mean to be vulgar btw when saying “dang” and all
dang man, have you considered that Silva does this sort of stuff because he is just bored of his opponents, consider this, maybe Silva doesn’t care what people think and does what he wants to do in the octagon
i hope Dana cuts Silva hehe and Strike Force would just pick Silva up and there would be some interesting match ups there, i would love for that to happen not to mention giving SF a hell of a lot more views
A. Silva is calling Dana’s bluff!
@tman229 Yeah, and I hate to say it, but Anderson would not fair well in Boxing. As good as he is with his counters, he would have some problems.
One thing you did say (which was brought up in our discussion) and I kind of agree on is that Silva should leave if not bored. Only difference is you said leave MMA all together and I said just leave UFC. As we both agreed on, I guess it will be decided in his next match up whether Silva leaves or stays in the UFC (or MMA). It’s funny because I also was thinking Silva would fight Roy Jones after the contract is over.
@MobiusCoin There are rules about that, but they aren’t exactly the same in every States Athletic Commissions Rules. More importantly over in Abu Dhabi, the UFC acted as the Commission if I remember right, not sure how they did the testing though. This is why I talked about making sure that MMA is regulated the same all over the place, with all the commissions adopting the same rules and judging/scoring/refing, with a committee having a representative from each state overseeing the rules process
While I do agree with most of this, I thought passivity and taunting were fouls, if Anderson’s actions are not akin to Tiger and Vick’s actions because they were off-field, and they are, aren’t Anderson’s actions comparable to taunting during a touchdown and taking a knee to burn the clock in football?
Yeah, he needs to evolve like Machida.
Put him in there with Jon Jones.
@hattrickhockey17 Just keep in mind, that it wasn’t his actions early on, but his disrespect towards his opponent in the later rounds. This sports hinges on respect.
@TheCrazyMmaFan All good.
I respectfully disagree.
Interesting.
