Unafraid of Machida’s striking, Rua baited him into fighting his fight by constantly pushing forward expecting Machida to do what he ALWAYS does when pressured in the pocket, straight left/trip leg kick thangy, and then simply unloaded a heaping of ASS WHOOPING all over Lyoto’s exposed skull! Simple plan difficult to implement.

what makes you think I was a machida fan from the first place? don’t put words in my mouth, I have actually been a pride & shogun fan long before his ufc debut. I like machida and when I say he’s overrated I don’t mean that he’s shit, but the whole machida “era” and having him rated as the #1 light heavyweight champ & one of the p4p best by sherdog was bullshit. The whole mystery behind how he was unbeatable was bullshit. UFC is a business and they can make anyone seem like a god.

@Gacktosan3 Shogun trained 4 Lyotos style 4 about a year, what he did was not luck, that was pure timing. He wated 4 Machida to come in 1st and just blasted him, stop hating and give the man credit.
