I mean the guy had his sights aimed at a guy that he’s beaten convincingly and then Franklin pops into the picture. He seems to me like his tires have been deflated. What are your thoughts?

I don’t think he is scared at all. I think that Chuck is going to destroy Franklin. Franklin will put up more of a fight than Tito, but he still won’t be able to take Chuck down…and if the fight stays standing, Rich is going to sleep. I think that this is a pretty decent match up for Chuck, not as good as Tito, but he should do very well. I think that this long period of time off is exactly what he needed. Who knows, maybe he will come to UFC 115 as a new man and make another run at the title. I think Liddell has a lot more fight left in him than people think…
Chuck looked very confident to me. I think he knocks Franklin out.
No he respects rich but not scared.
You must have missed the last episode of The Ultimate Fighter. Chuck was really looking forward to fighting Tito again, so he seems a little bummed out that Tito backed out to have neck surgery. I watched the weigh ins, Chuck looks in great shape and very confident. This could be a really entertaining fight.
As much as I think Liddell is a shadow of his former self, I’ll disagree with your statement. Liddell is a natural fighter–he loves to do it and it’s not a job to him like it is for a lot of guys, Franklin included. I’m not making light of Franklin when I say that Liddell isn’t scared, he’s an elite fighter, but Liddell didn’t get his nickname by accident: he really is the Iceman.
