UFC 115 is fast approaching and not without a great deal of drama. First of all the fight location was not easy to secure. The event is being held in Canada but for the first time it is being passed in British Columbia. Prior to this December 17. 2009 they had not sanctioned MMA in BC. The event location was in jeopardy because they did not have any regulations in place to allow UFC to promote MMA professionally in Vancouver. It was rumored the even may move to Cincinnati but Dana White confirmed that the logistics were worked out and the event would be on June 12, 2010, as previously scheduled, in Vancouver. I will definitely be watching this fight, Watch UFC 115.
The main event for UFC 115 was originally set to be Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz but has since changed to Chuck Liddell vs Rich Franklin. Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz have been fighting against each other all season on Ultimate Fighter and tensions have been rising. Chuck Liddell continuously mentioned he couldn’t wait for the fight and a chance to put Tito Ortiz in his place. Tito eventually pulled out for “medical reasons” to have surgery on his neck.
The match between Thiago Alves and Jon Fitch has been moved. This long awaited rematch was originally scheduled for UFC 107, then UFC 111, then UFC 115 and is not scheduled for UFC 117. Hopefully we will get a chance to see this rematch someday, should be an amazing fight and there is nothing like a good rematch. Watch Chuck Liddell and Rich Franklin and many more, Watch UFC 115.
On appearance alone, Chuck Liddell looks like he will rock Rich Franklin’s World. Should be a great event with lots of action. Chuck Liddell always puts on a good show, wish Tito Ortiz was fighting but maybe next time. Thiago Alves always fights hard so I am looking forward to his fight.
