@titomoreno
I agree, Liddell would stand little chance. Jones would kill (IMO) most of the LHW division. He has a considerable natural talent advantage over most of the LHW athletes or so it seems so far.

kylehoppe June 14, 2010 at 20:08

@Rucker1980
Favorable match ups? Rashad Evans (number 1 contender, former LHW champion, fast powerful striker) Mauricio (LHW champion, aggressive powerful striker) Rich Franklin (former MW champion, solid hooks)… I think most would agree that these were immensely difficult match ups. Bottom line though is that Chuck still wants to fight. Why tell a person what they can and can’t do?

ManyDuckling June 14, 2010 at 20:33

i think thats ridicoules barry broke two fingers in his right hand when knocked cro cop down the second time and when they did hug cro cop was coming off a take down i think barry was afraid of the takedown also he di the same thing with hardonk he let him up after he dropped him
barry didnt live up to his skills that he has

lowkick.com/UFC/Further-analysis-of-Cro-Cop-vs-Barry-8315 My opinion on the fight ^^

titomoreno June 14, 2010 at 21:07

dude i dont want to see that fight liddell vs jones, jones will literally kill liddell, jones is the future of MMA

Rucker1980 June 14, 2010 at 21:22

Oh come on dog, how is this a question? Chuck Liddell has BEEN done! He’s been fed a steady diet of favorable matchups only to get toasted 3 times in a row. He’s way too rich and way too far away from title contention to even consider taking on another fight. Do we really need to see him get knocked out by Eric Schafer?

Flyingoutofadream June 14, 2010 at 21:43

@FrankGarrett316 OF course, but just for fun, theres a video of anderson silva boxing with Big Nog and they do chin conditioning : D lol

DexterShawn June 14, 2010 at 22:03

@JasonH42000 he still sucks and don’t belong in the UFC, Barry absolutely no ground game at all that’s not going to cut it anymore in MMA especially in a organization that has the best MMA fighters on the planet.. UFC is no place to learn on the job he needs to go to a smaller organization build up his skills ground wise and then come back to UFC . He’s going to get cut by the UFC he can’t beat any of the top heavyweights everyone of them can take him down to ground and it’s all over .

confusedsay June 14, 2010 at 22:17

When you get old your chin/head goes away. Sad to say I know this first hand. Chuck’s time is over, now I hope he can enjoy life after fighting.

kylehoppe June 14, 2010 at 23:13

@FrankGarrett316
He has a trend of losing to top level talent while using one dimensional game plans. This was the first time we’ve seen Chuck in the ring since his improved lifestyle in regards to training. Yet no one seems to be factoring in the likely possibility of ring rust. Instead it is, Chuck is old and should quit. I would like to see Chuck alter his game plan drastically. Maybe a whole lot more kicks and counters, and a whole lot less berserk mode. His kicks were suprisingly effective

FrankGarrett316 June 14, 2010 at 23:38

@kylehoppe Right, but this wasn’t isolated incident where we could just write it off and say, “yeah, it was accumulation of all those shots, and the final one being lined up perfectly. This is the TREND. He got KO’d in brutally in 4 of his last 5 losses.

kylehoppe June 14, 2010 at 23:41

@FrankGarrett316
True you can’t train your chin. The chin is the off button for ALL fighters. No doubt Chuck’s chin isn’t the strongest in MMA anymore, but he took several shots from Rick just fine through out the first round unfazed. It wasn’t until he went balls to the wall blood crazy that Rich caught him flush on a relaxed jaw. After Chuck missed with the over zealous right hand, his face was literally lined up like a tee ball for Rich to smash with the power hook.

FrankGarrett316 June 14, 2010 at 23:51

Here’s the bottom line, no matter how well CONDITIONED Chuck may be compared to recent years, you can’t TRAIN your CHIN. He can no longer take a punch, period. So for health reasons, obviously he should retire as a legend.

JasonH42000 June 15, 2010 at 00:27

Doliveij, It’s because he broken his pinkie in the 1st Round that is why he acted the way he did. Watch his post fight interview bro.

mmafanatic90 June 15, 2010 at 01:12

Could you think the reason why Barry gassed is becasue he was throwing all his power in all of his punches and kicks in the first round… plus crocop wore him down with takedowns and putting barry on the cage

I love listening to you and watching your videos, but dude, you gotta give crocop some credit… it sounds like you had a dislike for crocop. I haven’t seen him that agressive during a finish since 2006… like Rogan said ” That was vintage Crocop” that finished Barry.

kylehoppe June 15, 2010 at 01:15

@CLOVERCITYY15
The fact is Chuck looked much improved from his most recent fights. Chuck used new techniques (for him) and use them effectively (like breaking Rich’s arm with a body kick). Or when he faked the right hand into blasting a single leg take down, an innovative technique. He looked good until he smelt blood and began his signature onslaught. This is a bad strategic move for someone with a susceptible chin, since attacking/ committing increases the risk of your opponent landing clean.

mrsolve June 15, 2010 at 01:45

Pat stopped being that guy because he broke his hand and leg in the first round

AmadeusExcello June 15, 2010 at 02:01

@ian2470147 Claude turns 30-years-old tomorrow (d.o.b. June 14, 1980).

imhatepie June 15, 2010 at 02:28

It’s a shame but Chuck’s chin cant keep up with the rest of him.

CLOVERCITYY15 June 15, 2010 at 03:22

point blank chuck is old and washed up….he has respect for being legend…..but he is old and shouldnt fight….period n i like him as a fighter to….its true…dana white is all facts and people that hate him should just listen..the one man if anyone is questioning anything about the UFC he will give it to you strATE UP…..thats why hes the one dude that i want his jjob….hes chill n RICH AS FUCK

ian2470147 June 15, 2010 at 03:57

Btw, how old is Claude Patrick? I can’t seem to find his age.

cazz3000 June 15, 2010 at 04:40

haha that “yikes, eww” bit tickled me alot
twas a pretty sloppy fight

ian2470147 June 15, 2010 at 05:21

Regarding Barry vs Cro Cop, I’m not sure about all that hero-worship being the reason Barry didn’t finish it. I think that if anything, Barry got too confident. I mean, when you knock a dude flat on his ass twice in like three minutes you begin to think that you can do it all day. 2nd rounds comes, and Cro Cop starts at least evening out the stand-up, then takes him down which was the turning point in my mind, because it wore Barry down and led him to gas. In my mind, thats all that happened

Fight040Allah June 15, 2010 at 06:16

the whole hug and hand shake were to much barry respected him to much and paid. I like him though that second right hand he landed was nice jacked up cro cops face I think he can beat him in a rematch. I say he beats most strikers kongo, cro cop, yvel, duffe and hardonk, maybe not santos.

fumbaxt June 15, 2010 at 06:56

Good thing the ref stopped the Carlos vs Rory fight or those wierd unpredictable entities named judges would have scored it a 29-28 to Rory even though there was a clear 10-8 round to Carlos!!!!!!
