2267victor September 4, 2010 at 09:58: If you look at about 4:10 Segal tells Sivla to throw a jab at him. Silva throws the jab the way he would normally throw a punch, by throwing the punch and then pulling it back. Segal fails to block the first 2 jabs even though he knows exactly what punch is coming and with what hand. Silva realizes that Segal can’t do the technique so he then throws the punch and holds him arm out so Segal can do the technique. This catching a punch in mid air stuff is just stupid. Silva would light Segal up.

I’ve been involved for years and I assure you anyone who is a true martial artist respects where MMA comes from — this includes Anderson Silva.
Funny, you rarely, if ever, see these great fighters knocking styles because they know that without them there would be no MMA. I wish the side-liners had a clue, honestly.

In the end of the day, Silva is one of the best fighters in the world and if he thought Seagal or aikido was a joke, he wouldn’t waste his time. He obviously see something in the art that average minds don’t. Let’s move on.
