Very good one.

gonzalojudovm February 25, 2010 at 20:33

@mmask8ter is no variation, is the same

buymeaskyline February 25, 2010 at 20:34

Your left arm usually goes under the opponents right arm for mma ouchi gari so your head can start on the right hand side. So this seems to be a variation.

Just curious, where is your accent from?

If you search youtube for Jon Fitch the first video is a highlight video. You’ll see him hit this takedown twice in the UFC at the 1:28 and 1:34 in the video.

The judo throw he was about to do is actually effective and you won’t break a knee falling on top of your opponent like some kind of drunk horse.

chopper245 February 25, 2010 at 22:31

when he said it wasn’t a judo throw, he meant it wasnt the judo throw called “uchi mata”. but he was still doing a judo throw called “ouchi gari”.

Good stuff

mmask8ter February 25, 2010 at 23:25

A variation of O Uchi Gari (Judo – Major Inside Reap) !!

guyklei February 26, 2010 at 00:21

Very nice video, but this is a judo move – it’s Oche-gari… look it up

guyklei February 26, 2010 at 01:02

Very good video…
But this is a judo throw, it’s Ochi-Gari… look it up…

Awesome video, That was a interesting way to isolate the leg and take someone down, its these kind of intricacies that make MMA a entertaining technical sport, theres more to it than the “KO punch” theres a human chess game going on.
