I think this is what dana is afraid that other fighters from other orgs. coming in and taking belts away. I believe this is why he screwed up negotiations with ‘The Axe Murder’!

Dana says his fighters are the best but he goes out of his way to protect them.
As I said Pride K1 etc will 99% of the time beat a ufc fighter!

it does not matter where the fighters come from a winner is a winner!

The UFC needs to bring in better fighters period. Right now you can argue that PRIDE has the most talented fighters in the world and that UFC has the most popular, at least in the US. I knew Silva was going to beat Franklin but never expected in my wildest dreams he’d score a first round knock-out! That’s just plain sick and I love it. People had the notion that Franklin was unbeatable and Silva was going to get killed and didn’t even deserve his shot at the title until he paid his dues in UFC. Are you kidding me, have you seen who Anderson Silva has fought and beaten in the past before the Chris Leban dismantling? Carlos Newton, Jeremy Horn, Lee Murray, & Hayato Sakurai to name a few. Fighters like Anderson Silva is exactly what UFC needs; hard hitting, calculating, no holds barred, fearless competitors to bring some excitement into UFC cause their roster is actually pretty small because most of the big names of the MMA world are in Japan in PRIDE and how many times can you really watch fightters like Matt Hughes dominate the WW division. After he fights St. Pierre & eventually D. Sanchez, he’ll have no one left to fight and no one will be willing to step up and fight him unless UFC pulls an Anderson Silva and recruits someone in the WW division from another orginization, who’s contract ran out, to eventually fight him and win for the purpose of opening up the division again.
Something that UFC need. Dana is a flithy lair in my eyes. He treat his fighters awful then turn around and talk bad about every other orgs. in the world. by having non-ufc fighter dominating UFC fighter, that’s like as watching a brat 5 years old who keep try to steal from store getting spanked.
Yeah. I’m pretty sure now there’s a different class of fighters out there in the MMA world. especially after the Franklin dismantling.
Dana needs to bring in another MMA fighters from outside organizations.
Wanderlei Silva doesn’t stand a chance against the Liddell.
And Anderson Silva is a UFC fighter, because he has a contract with UFC and is now the champion of the middleweight division.
I highly doubt Dana is trying to protect the fighters in the UFC. Dana is a business man and simply wants to put on the best fights possible. If he were trying to protect the fighters in the UFC you would never hear anything about Wanderlei fighting Chuck Dana simply wouldn’t even entertain the thought.
As a matter of fact Dana is looking for a three fight deal with the Pride where as the Pride management only wants to sign a one time fight deal! Doesn’t sound like Dana’s trying to protect his fighters by asking for more fights than the Pride is willing to offer.
Besides Wanderlei has already fought in the UFC and he didn’t fare too well. He was defeted in 1998, at UFC Brazil: Ultimate Brazil, in a match against Vitor Belfort. that lasted only 44 seconds and ended with Silva being knocked out by Belfort. He also lost to Tito Ortiz at UFC 25: Ultimate Japan 3. If that’s any indication of how he’ll do against Chuck I would bet that Chuck would win 9 out of 10 times versus Wanderlei.
He also got pummeled recently by Cro Cop why should he get a chance to fight Chuck why not Cro Cop?
Ben, don’t compare old Wandy fights to the Wandy of today. Give me a break.
Anyway, any of the top 10 fighters in PRIDE could come in and clean house in the UFC, easily. Including Chuck Lidell.
