Mouth Piece, Hand Wraps, and possibly boxing gloves. The gym I went to had them for students already but not all gyms do that. Either way it is good to get gloves of your own regardless. If you are 15 or over I would get 16 ounce gloves. Aside from gym attire (shorts or jogging pants etc) You are good to go.

First, you must have a punching bag or a puching ball. If you have none of those, you can do shadow boxing and try to create a good stands and posture. Learn to master the basics like the straight punch, upper cut, hook shot and body shots.

As with John s, bag mits and heavy bag are essential. Dont get cheap pretend stuff, because when you punch hard you will bust the gloves and the bag. Use wraps to protect skin on knuckles while using mits, best to make your own wraps because proper wraps are very long and will fill the mit. at the early stage you simply ned to protect skin peeling on knuckles. The heavy bag wil improve your cardio vascular while you learn to punch. There is too much to tell you on this site but If you are right handed this will be your stronger punch so work on your left hand punch til this is powerful, punch straight (jab) out and in from the chin. The club trainer is the best to guide you on the rest. You can and must do a lot yourself. Running, bag work, shadow box, if you dont like hard work and pain (and i mean exceptional hard work) then dont do boxing. Your balance, power, strength, commitment is far more important than buying equipment you cant use. Remember;…..power comes from your feet !!!!!! not your hands, otherwise the bigger man would always win. good luck
