I think while you’re doing stand up fighting you should exhale through your nose, but once you do your ground work your breathing should be a combination between your nose and mouth.

I think breathing through the mouth is better as you can get more oxygen in your body, but if you leave you mouth and get hit on the chin you are more likely to get it damaged and get yourself knocked out than if it was closed. The following link is an article about breathing and striking. http://markschat.blogspot.com/2008/01/striking-and-breathing.html

during any sort of activity always always always inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth, this way oxygen will get to your brain letting your mind think and react quicker. also you will keep your oxygen circulating from nose to lungs and out mouth GOOD LUCK

I always inhale through my nose, and exhale through my mouth when fighting and training. A good way to get used to that type of breathing is to always train with a mouth piece in place, even if your just running on the treadmill or jumping rope.

The best way I’ve experienced is to inhale quickly twice through the nose consecutively, and breath out quickly once through the mouth, keep doing that.

Remember that you’d be wearing a mouthpiece, breathing in through the mouth is not a good idea, if you relax the jaw muscles and get hit, you’ be knocked out.

good luck!

It is better to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. The reason for this is that you will get more damp moist air through your nose and it will not dry out your throat as much. Also it is easier to blow out larger quantaties of air through your mouth.

You will find that most people run out of gas because they are trying to get more air in when they haven’t exhaled yet so. Doing this is actually the same as simulating an atshma attack. Try breathing in as much air as you can and then only blow out half of it, keep doing that and you will start strugglin for breath and may even feel dizzy if you do it long enough.

Durring any exercise it is better to concentrate on emptying your lungs, your body will inhale automatically it is part of the natural instinct of your body.

So the best advice I can give is anytime that you can concentrate on regulating your breathing, and when you are on the offensive or spending a lot of juice concentrate on getting all of the air out of your lungs so that you can get as much clean air in as possible.

Good luck.
