Which Mixed Martial Arts school should i choose?

by MasterBlaster on June 1, 2010

there is a gracie jiujitsu (gracie orlando- owner- jonathan burke) school near my area that focuses only on jiujitsu. and i also have a school thats kinda far maybe 30 minutes to an hour away, and it focuses on all aspects of mixed martial arts (American Top Team Orlando), and i was wondering which school should i choose? both of them are great but im having a hard time trying to figure out which one.

Build a base with the Gracie JJ place, then as time, money and opportunity permits head to ATT.

The ATT school in Orlando is pretty damn good, and ATT has some great instructors and fighters. By far it is the better school, but getting a good BJJ base at a reputable school that is closer to you will only help. Then if you have time to spend 1 to 2 hours a day in transit. (30 minutes to an hour there and then back) then go for that.

But I suggest giving the closest one a try to see if it is for you.

Go learn the Jui-Jitsu it is a great thing to have under your belt. Next head to ATTO, i heva heard it is very good but i have never been there myself. I would suggest also maybe taking Muay Thai or Krav Maga. they are very good as well…

the jujitsu school is a jujitsu school, not an MMA school. Nevertheless, it is an excellent idea to start there to build a base. Building a base is very important, and some fighters neglect to do this, but it will give you something you will feel comfortable with
