Why do people say football is more violent than mma or ufc?

by MasterBlaster on May 1, 2010

When football is not as violent as ufc and mma. Football is actually better than ufc or mma so is hockey and soccer and baseball. Anything is better than ufc or mma. MMA AND UFC ARE TOO OVERRATED.

why don’t u take some advise from ur name. everything u stated is in no way truth because u have not based it on fact just opinion thus ur argument is irrelevant.

In my opinion the UFC is not less violent it is obviously much more violent but a lot less dangerous. in MMA you take punches, there is a guy in there to stop it if it gets to a point where a a individual cannot defend himself. in football if a guy get hit in the hips and as he falls he gets hit again in the head by a 400 pound dude he could easily be killed, paralyzed or seriously injured in other ways.

in UFC there are weight classes unlike football where a 230 pound quarter back goes up against a 400 pound linemen who could crush him.

so yes the ufc is more violent, football is more dangerous.
as for soccer hockey and baseball they are both irrelevant to this conversation but if u want to touch on the topic of violence.
UFC markets itself as a combat sport. hockey does not yet they allow the players the punch each other in the face at center ice with the refs just looking on. that’s sounds much more violent to me then two skilled fighters agreeing months in advance in order to train and prepare to fight in a gentlemen like way rather then push and pull while standing on metal blades yanking the opponents jersey over his head to punch him in the face leaving him without deffence. what one sounds more violent when u think about it analytically rather then based on judgment?

“Football is actually better than ufc or mma so is hockey and soccer and baseball.”

This is actually *opinion*, which is, by definition, subjective. No, really, look it up. I’ll wait.

See?

At any rate, a rudimentary (that means basic) understanding of physics (that’s science) would lead many people to understand that football is more violent than MMA on a physical level, in that more force is being applied between players. Also, more injuries and deaths in football than MMA. (These are called “facts”, as opposed to the “opinions” that you have posted.)

It could also be argued that professional MMA fighters are more professional, better educated, and more respectful than pro football players, which would lead to them being perceived as “less violent”. This discussion would be more subjective though.

I’m sure that you are reasonable and intelligent enough to appreciate my points.
