Will there every be an undisputed MMA champion?

MMA would be so much better if all the fighters were free to fight whomever they wanted. Dana White deserves credit for building the sport up to what it is now, but why doesn’t he nor anyone else realize that the sport is being sheltered? In boxing you have the WBC, WBO, IBF and the WBA, but all of those associations let fighters fight one another. The presidents and gurus of the MMA organizations need to have a sit-down and get something together. Until then pound for pound lists and best lightweight, best welterweight lists are stupid.

i think someone can be undisputed if they have a match with a lot on the line.
Say have a UFC heavyweight against some other org’s champion. The loser will have to close shop…
For example, if the UFC champion loses, and since he represents UFC, UFC have to cease to exist and all the fighters are released from their contracts.

To avoid the hue and cry of the loser saying that they shouldn’t haven’t lost the match by stoppage. There should be more than one match. But of course, to really have an UNDISPUTED MMA CHAMPION, the winner have to rip off the loser’s head and hold it to the blood crazed crowd.

Oh yeah, the owner of the losing organization have to hang himself by the loser’s belt by the neck. After that, the owner’s body together with the belt would have to be burried in an active volcano. In that case, no one will ever speak of the old belt again.

Thus, there would be only ONE organization, ONE belt, ONE UNDISPUTED Champion.

Edit:
I would like to see the winner rip the heart off the loser’s chest and eat it, but that seems a little old fashioned.

MMA should not want to be like Boxing!!! Boxing is so screwed up with all of these different belts and organizations. The UFC is the pinnacle of MMA and anyone who is trying to argue that issue, mainly the Elite-XC owner, is flat out stupid. Gary Shaw came from boxing and he is trying to screw up MMA purely to make money. Could you imagine if the best fighters were not in the UFC and a few were fighting in each of these smaller organizations…it would be a mess and totally kill this growing sport. Look at every UFC card, they are stacked with great fights. That’s what fans want to see!

well whatever mma does i REALLY hope it doesnt end up like boxing, dana white and the ufc tried to get every top fighter so they could call thier champs the undisputed champ. They are actually pretty close, with the exception of the heavywieghts i dont really think theres anyone out there who is better than the UFC champs in thier respective wieght classes, when the UFC ads a featherwieght division or some below lightwieght it will be pretty complete. Evantually dana white will get his hands on anyone out there who seems like they could challenge the UFC champ, and the smaller promotions will be more of a proving ground/sideshow with up and coming fighters and sideshows like kimbo.
Not that i like dana white, joe silva, and they way the UFC makes its matchups in general but i think it will be best if they get all the top fighters, and run it kind of like english soccer, have a top league and then smaller leagues all working together.

I also think the ufc needs a more clear cut ranking system, and not to put so much emphasis on marketability when it comes to title shots.
